Jaime A. Regalado, Ph.D.
Executive Director

Dr. Jaime A. Regalado has served as Executive Director of the Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute of Public Affairs since 1991. He is also Professor of Political Science at Cal State L.A. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he received undergraduate and master degrees in political science from California State University, Los Angeles, in 1971 and 1973 respectively. He received a doctoral degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside, in 1980. Dr. Regalado is a frequent media interview on local, state and national politics, leading public policy issues, political climates and voter moods, elections, election campaigns and candidate pools. His articles have focused on such issues as the state of California's politics and political climates, Los Angeles city politics, coalition building, political incorporation, economic development policymaking, and voting rights/political access. He is founding editor of California Politics & Policy, co-editor of California Policy Issues Annual, and previously served as associate editor of Urban Affairs Review.

Taffany Lim
Associate Director

Lily Baba
Administrative Analyst

Lily Baba is currently PBI's administrative analyst. She has been a Cal State L.A. employee for the past 28 years, 16 of those years with the PBI. Lily has been a dedicated community volunteer for over twenty years. She serves on the executive committees of the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center and the Asian Youth Center boards. She is also a board member of Pacific Film Currents (PFC) and served as an associate producer for two PFC documentary productions, "442 for the Future" in 1997, and "Mothers, Daughters, Sisters," in 2000. Lily received her Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix in 1996.

Jacqueline Ruiz
Director, Public Policy Education Program

Jacqueline Ruiz is the Director of PBI's Public Policy Education Program (PPEP). Ms. Ruiz received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Women's Studies and Chicano/Latino Studies from California State University, Long Beach. Before joining the PBI, Ms. Ruiz previously worked for former Assemblymember Judy Chu and Assemblymember Mike Eng in the capacity of field representative and senior field representative respectively.

Roberto Campos
Coordinator, Public Policy Education Program

Jessica Roosinisalda-Gomez
Senior Program Coordinator, Safe & Healthy Communities Program

Jessica Roosinisalda-Gomez received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, during which she first came in contact with PBI as an intern. Currently, she is the Senior Program Coordinator of the Safe and Healthy Communities Program and is responsible for coordinating two major policy programs, the Youth Enrichment Policy Program (YEPP) and the Health Policy Outreach Center (HPOC). Raised in the North East Los Angeles area, she has a keen understanding of the needs of the community on issues such as gang violence, health care, and education. She is committed to creating change through policy and advocacy. Ms. Roosinisalda-Gomez is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work with a concentration in community organizing, planning, and administration (COPA) at the Univeristy of Southern California.
